Pharmacy Assistant Prescription Filling

Support prescription filling and patient care at Walmart in Brooks, Alberta, using pharmacy computer functions and accuracy checks under Pharmacist supervision.

The Pharmacy Assistant supports technical prescription filling and administrative duties. You will receive prescriptions, assess completeness, process patient information, and provide customer service. The work also includes inventory, housekeeping, clerical organization, and over-the-counter operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive prescriptions and assess required patient and prescriber information
• Process data entry, refills, reports, and patient profile checks
• Fill, label, organize, and prepare prescriptions for Pharmacist checking
• Maintain inventory, order supplies, and remove expired medications
• Support housekeeping, filing, cashier duties, and OTC operations

Requirements:

• Be at least 16 years old
• Follow provincial legal and regulatory prescription requirements
• Interpret written prescriptions and Latin abbreviations
• Perform dosage calculations and drug name recognition
• Work under Pharmacist supervision during prescription filling
