Operate wastewater treatment systems in West Kelowna using SCADA, PLC controls, and equipment maintenance expertise. This full-time position supports continuous plant operations.
As a Level I Treatment Plant Operator, you will assist with daily Wastewater Treatment Plant operation and maintenance. The work includes preventative maintenance, process adjustments, equipment troubleshooting, and regulatory compliance. You will support the Senior Treatment Plant Operator while monitoring the BNR process and plant performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, lubrication, and equipment cleaning
- Inspect plant equipment, plumbing, fittings, walkways, and handrails
- Monitor and adjust SCADA, PLC, and BNR systems
- Complete plant rounds, records, data collection, and reporting
- Respond to emergencies through the 24/7 standby rotation
Requirements:
- EOCP Level 1 Wastewater Treatment certification
- Minimum one year wastewater treatment operator experience
- Good-standing Environmental Operators Certification Program membership
- WHMIS, TDG, confined space training, and Grade 12
- Valid British Columbia Drivers Licence and SCADA proficiency
