Structural Engineer

Our client, a multidisciplinary design and engineering firm with strong presence in Western Canada, is seeking a Structural Engineer out of their Edmonton office. This is a permanent, full-time role, offering a base salary commensurate with experience (approximately $90k-$120k), along with a competitive vacation and benefits package. This position will play a key role in structural design and calculations, preparing drawings and construction services.

• Responsibilities:
• Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of municipal, residential, commercial, and industrial projects, including existing buildings and structures
• Complete structural calculations and prepare and edit structural specifications
• Review engineering design for compliance with established codes, standards, and specifications; provides technical support to designers and drafters
• Prepare reports and other technical documentation as required by the client
• Communicate with clients, vendors, and contractors
• Support senior staff with inter-discipline coordination, project reporting, and structural analysis and design
• Coordinate with technical staff in preparation of contract drawings and documents and other work tasks
• Coordinate structural designs and documents with other disciplines (Architectural, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Landscaping, etc.)
• Provide structural engineering support during construction, attend site meetings, and carry out field reviews
• Other duties as assigned
• Qualifications:
• P.Eng or registered as an EIT
• Degree in Structural Engineering
• Minimum 3-5 years of related work experience
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Self-starter and team player
• A valid driver's license
