Shape enemy behavior, abilities, and hitboxes as a Combat Designer at Velan Studios, working hybrid or onsite in Toronto, Ontario.
Velan Studios is entering pre-production on a new action role-playing game based on a premiere fantasy intellectual property. This mid-level Combat Designer will drive early-stage design decisions and implement enemy units and encounters. The work requires boss design, scripting, and cross-disciplinary communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define enemy, ally, and boss combat behaviors
- Collaborate closely with cross-discipline teams
- Implement enemy units and combat encounters
- Support compelling encounter design throughout development
Requirements:
- At least two years of design experience
- Boss design experience in action or role-playing games
- General scripting proficiency
- Solid cross-disciplinary communication skills
- Hybrid availability for three studio days weekly
