Lead veterinary support staff at VEG in Leaside, Ontario, using clinical expertise and empathetic leadership. Help shape emergency care team operations.
As Nursing and Support Staff Manager, you will guide daily support staff flow in VEG’s 24/7 emergency hospital. Your work combines scheduling, payroll, hiring, onboarding, team development, and patient care leadership. Partner with hospital leadership and shift leads to align goals, maintain medical excellence, and support career growth through training, mentorship, and meaningful check-ins.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily support staff flow and provide needed tools
- Oversee scheduling, payroll, productivity, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding
- Address patient care issues and team dynamics empathetically
- Partner with hospital leaders and shift leads on goals
- Guide development through doctor feedback, training, and mentorship
Requirements:
- Five-plus years as a clinical veterinary technician
- Two-plus years in a leadership role
- Registered veterinary technician designation in Ontario
- Flexibility for veterinary industry or leadership meetings
- Availability for rotating nights, weekends, and holidays
