Cisco seeks Embedded Systems Software Developers skilled in C, C++, concurrency, and Linux for potential opportunities supporting networking platforms.
This developer role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing software components across Cisco’s next-generation networking platforms. You will work with engineering teams, technical leaders, and architecture groups on scalability, availability, and system-level challenges. The position also includes technical initiatives, mentoring, and architectural contributions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement critical embedded software components
- Optimize software across next-generation networking platforms
- Solve complex architectural challenges with engineering teams
- Contribute to scalable, highly available system designs
- Mentor emerging talent and lead technical initiatives
Requirements:
- Current enrollment in a qualifying degree or development program
- Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related education
- Strong C and C++ systems programming proficiency
- Understanding of operating systems internals and networking protocols
- Linux development experience with GDB, Valgrind, and Git
