Laboratory Assistant Student Trainee

Dynacare’s Laboratory Assistant Student Trainee program develops data entry and specimen-processing skills through casual, 100% onsite work. Locations include Kelowna, Vernon, and Penticton.

As an Uncertified Laboratory Assistant Student Trainee, you will process laboratory specimens before and after analysis. You will accurately enter patient, test, and requisition information while completing quality control checks. The program supports learning through work alongside knowledgeable healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process laboratory specimens before and after analysis
• Enter patient and test information accurately
• Obtain blood samples using venipuncture techniques
• Sort and steer specimens and perform ECGs
• Prepare specimens and documentation for transportation

Requirements:

• Register with Thompson Rivers University MLA Certificate Program
• Complete a Medical Terminology course
• Type at least 40 words per minute
• Communicate effectively in written and spoken English
• Work collaboratively in a team-centered environment
