Support Transportation Operations through dispatch, customer service, and administrative coordination at the Regional Operations Centre in Waterloo Region.
The Region of Waterloo seeks a full-time Operations Assistant for its Transportation Services division. You will provide dispatch response, frontline reception, and administrative support while documenting service requests, coordinating communications, and maintaining operational records. The on-site schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:00pm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispatch staff for traffic signal and traffic sign maintenance
- Relay messages between field staff and external contacts
- Process customer requests through Lagan and Hansen
- Coordinate Ontario One Call utility locate requests
- Document winter operations activities and overtime responses
Requirements:
- Grade 12 education plus three years of related experience
- Working knowledge of two-way radio systems and dispatch setups
- Knowledge of the Regional road network and divisional services
- Computer skills with MS Office, Hansen, Lagan, and GIS
- Ability to travel within Waterloo Region
