Location: Weston / Finch Area, Toronto, ON

Pay Rate: - $: per hour
Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:am to 3pm Monday to Friday
Employment Type: Temp-to-Perm (permanent opportunity after a 3-month probationary period)

Overview

Our client, a manufacturer of industrial vacuum systems, is seeking an experienced Driver / Shipper to support shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, and delivery operations. The ideal candidate will have a valid DZ licence, experience handling shipments, and the physical ability to load and unload trucks and work on the production floor.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a DZ truck for deliveries and transportation as required.
• Perform shipping and receiving duties on the production floor.
• Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment.
• Build and secure skids for outgoing shipments.
• Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
• Prepare shipping documentation, including waybills and bills of lading.
• Use shipping software and online portals, including UPS, FedEx, and customs systems, to prepare shipping documents when required, particularly when the regular shipper is away.
• Enter shipment details into the computerized data system.
• Operate forklifts, including counterbalance and Raymond reach, to move materials and orders.
• Maintain an organized and safe shipping and receiving area.

Qualifications

• Valid DZ driver's licence with a clean 3-year driver's abstract.
• Previous experience in shipping, receiving, material handling, and truck driving.
• Experience using UPS, FedEx, and customs shipping systems is an asset.
• Forklift experience, including counterbalance and Raymond reach, is an asset.
• Ability to pick and pack orders, build skids, and prepare shipments.
• Physically fit and able to load and unload trucks.
• Ability to lift up to lbs. and stand, bend, and twist for extended periods.
• Good communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
