Senior Solution Architect – Microsoft Full Stack

Location: Remote, with ability to work onsite in Vancouver, BC as required

Contract: 12 months, with possibility of extension

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Solution Architect to support the enhancement, deployment, and ongoing evolution of an enterprise Financial Planning and Analytics web application.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role requiring someone who can architect solutions while actively contributing to application development, infrastructure configuration, DevOps, troubleshooting, and migration activities. The successful candidate will have deep experience across .NET, React/, SQL Server, IIS, APIs, and CI/CD and be comfortable working directly with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

·Lead the design, enhancement, and implementation of an enterprise financial planning and analytics application.

·Design and develop enterprise solutions using .NET Framework, , Web API, , , JavaScript, and SQL Server.

·Design, configure, secure, and troubleshoot IIS environments to support reliable application deployment and access.

·Design and implement automated API testing frameworks and integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines.

·Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, source control processes, release automation, and deployment practices.

·Evaluate the existing application architecture and recommend improvements related to scalability, maintainability, security, and performance.

·Design and support integrations between the application and SSAS-based reporting solutions.

·Provide advanced SQL Server expertise across database design, T-SQL, stored procedures, data modelling, ETL, performance tuning, and data reconciliation.

·Provide production support, including troubleshooting application issues, root cause analysis, performance optimization, and implementation of fixes.

·Lead technical planning and execution for the application's migration to new server infrastructure.

·Develop detailed migration, testing, rollback, cutover, and validation plans designed to minimize business disruption.

·Work closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, and end users to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.

·Demonstrate new functionality to stakeholders, gather feedback, and incorporate requirements into future application enhancements.

·Maintain technical documentation covering architecture, processes, designs, configurations, and solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

·Senior-level experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise applications using the Microsoft technology stack.

·Strong hands-on experience with .NET Framework, , Web API, , , JavaScript, and CSS.

·Advanced experience with SQL Server, including:

oT-SQL

oDatabase design and data modelling

oStored procedures

oETL

oPerformance tuning and optimization

oData quality and reconciliation

·Strong experience administering and troubleshooting IIS, including application deployment, authentication, security, and performance.

·Hands-on experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, API test automation, release management, and deployment automation.

·Experience planning and executing application and server migrations in enterprise environments.

·Experience integrating enterprise applications with SSAS and reporting solutions.

·Understanding of Power BI governance, including workspaces, deployment pipelines, row-level security, and data access controls.

·Strong understanding of application security, infrastructure dependencies, and performance optimization.

·Ability to work effectively across business, development, infrastructure, reporting, and support teams.

Work Arrangement

This position is primarily remote, but the successful candidate must be located within reasonable proximity to Vancouver, BC and be available to work onsite when required for project, migration, or stakeholder activities.

Contract Duration: 1 year, with potential for extension.
