Job Title: Assembler Continental NightsJob Description

The Assembler Continental Nights pieces together mechanical parts and components according to drawings, schematics, and established procedures using hand and power tools and appropriate fasteners. This role supports subassembly and final assembly operations, including testing and inspection, to ensure products meet all quality and production requirements. There are three openings: Final Assembly and Inspection (Blue Tag), Final Assembly and Inspection (Blue Tag/Bench Assembler), and VBA Assembler focused on sandblasting small parts.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of mechanical subassembly and final assembly operations on units of varying shapes and sizes.
  • Follow established methods, procedures, drawings, schematics, and diagrams to complete designated assemblies.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and test equipment to assemble components and verify proper function.
  • Conduct tests on assembled units, analyze results, and accurately record test data.
  • Inspect completed assemblies to ensure they meet all quality, safety, and specification requirements before leaving the work center.
  • Meet or exceed established production levels while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
  • Participate in supplier development activities as required to support continuous improvement.
  • Perform final assembly and inspection tasks for Blue Tag and Blue Tag/Bench Assembler positions, ensuring finished products are ready for shipment or next process step.
  • Carry out sandblasting of small parts for the VBA Assembler position, following safety and quality guidelines.
  • Handle and lift parts and assemblies weighing 50 pounds or more as needed during the assembly process.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of experience performing mechanical assembly in a manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Proficiency using hand tools for assembly and adjustment of mechanical components.
  • Proficiency using power tools safely and effectively in an assembly setting.
  • Ability to read and work from schematics, blueprints, drawings, and diagrams to complete assemblies.
  • Capability to lift and move items weighing 50 pounds or more on a regular basis.
  • Ability to conduct, analyze, and accurately record test results for assembled units.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure assemblies meet all quality and specification requirements.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and work instructions consistently.
  • Reliability in meeting or exceeding production targets while maintaining quality.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Comfort working in a structured manufacturing environment with multiple workstations and processes.
  • Willingness to work continental night shifts with initial training on the day shift for 1 to 4 weeks.
  • Ability to collaborate with a friendly team and interact positively with supervisors.
  • Openness to learning different assembly tasks, including final assembly, inspection, and sandblasting of small parts.
  • Basic understanding of test equipment operation in an assembly environment.

Work Environment

The role is based in a medium-sized manufacturing facility of over 200,000 square feet, featuring six assembly workstations, eight welding cells, a paint booth, and an epoxy mold department with more than ten machines. The workspace is very clean, with bright lighting and high ceilings, creating a comfortable and safe environment for detailed assembly work. Employees train on the day shift for 1 to 4 weeks before moving to the continental night shift. Work involves regular use of hand and power tools, test equipment, and, for some positions, sandblasting equipment for small parts.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brampton, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $49920.00 - $49920.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
