This position requires individuals with knowledge of health and social determinants, specific to our clients that have experienced homelessness. The Front-Line Support Worker works in a team environment and is expected to provide specific support to clients who access our residential services. Specifically, this role provides day to day support, crisis support, and referrals to community based programming, skill training and development advocacy. SCOPE OF POSITIONEstablish and maintain safe and clean environment of the facilityOverseeing the day-to-day operations of the facilityProvide and be available for client communicationsOne-on-one support and group facilitation of sharing informationAdvocate and/or mediate on behalf of clientsParticipate in Case Management to assist clients to transition to independenceQUALIFICATIONSGrade 12Certification: First Aid, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (NVCI, CPI) Suicide Intervention, and Food Safe; or the willingness to obtain after hireValid Driver's License and a Class 4 is an assetBasic computer skills and excellent verbal and written communication skillsKnowledge of the traditional territory Indigenous cultureMust clear criminal record checkKnowledge of Trauma-Informed Practices Be available to work all shifts in a 24-hour facilityPreference will be given to applicants of Canadian Indigenous ancestry.
