Requirements:
- Were looking for a candidate with a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Engineering, Geomatics, or a related discipline.
- We require 3–5 years of professional experience.
- Candidates should have a deep understanding of machine learning and deep learning, including CNNs, transformers, and object detection architectures.
- Were seeking demonstrable Python skills and experience with multiple machine learning frameworks.
- Candidates should understand ML experimentation workflows, including data preparation, model training, evaluation, and iteration.
- Experience with geospatial data formats and tools such as GeoTIFF, Shapefiles, GDAL/OGR, rasterio, or geopandas is an asset.
- Familiarity with SAR imagery or remote sensing data is an asset.
- Experience with MLOps tools such as MLflow, DVC, Weights & Biases, or similar platforms is an asset.
- Knowledge of Docker, CI/CD concepts, and cloud computing for ML workloads such as GCP is an asset.
- Published research or project experience in geospatial AI or Earth observation is an asset.
- Candidates must be Canadian citizens eligible for Government of Canada Secret-level security clearance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine machine learning models for maritime target correlation, combining satellite imagery, AIS, and RF data.
- Research, assess, and adapt geospatial foundation models for remote sensing and Earth observation applications relevant to maritime domain awareness.
- Design and maintain MLOps infrastructure, including model registries, experiment tracking, automated retraining, validation, and staged deployment.
- Measure model performance against operational metrics and help monitor models in production.
- Document methods, experiments, and results to support reproducibility and knowledge sharing.
- Work with backend developers and analysts to integrate machine learning outputs into the COREsight platform.
