Position Summary

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Manager will support the college’s entrepreneurial goals, including the development of domestic and international engagement opportunities, leading multiple aspects of revenue generation for the College. This position is responsible for advancing and generating revenue to support communities’ needs and the ongoing viability of the college. Working with the Executive Director, the Manager is responsible for the development of new cost recovery contracts, projects and partnerships; the preparation and submission of project proposals. - Championing and Adapting to Change Duties & Responsibilities The Manager has authority consistent with the following accountabilities. Additional responsibilities, as delegated by the Executive Director, will align with the changing or expanded requirements of the college.

  • Under direction of the Executive Director, sources entrepreneurial revenue to enhance College programs and/or services.
  • Leads the identification, development, management, and submission of funding proposals, grant applications, business cases, and partnership initiatives, including responding to calls for proposals and securing funding that advances the College’s strategic priorities.
  • Leads the design, development, implementation, administration, and evaluation of new funded programs, projects, and initiatives, working with internal and external partners to ensure successful delivery, compliance, and achievement of intended outcomes.
  • Establishes partnerships with business, industry, government, Indigenous communities, community partners to drive the college’s business development and strategic goals.
  • Seeks opportunities to secure domestic and international funding to develop and deliver both credential and non-credential programs through cost recovery contracts, entrepreneurial activities, and training service delivery within a strongly competitive environment.
  • Develops costing frameworks for cost recovery contracts to ensure accurate costing and appropriate tuition and course fee structures.
  • Manages the submission of proposals, administration, and implementation of NIC projects.
  • Leads a team and is responsible for all associated management functions.
  • Promotes and encourages the principles and practices of continuous improvement, innovation, and creativity.
  • Works collaboratively across the institution to align priorities, facilitate communication, build consensus, and advance departmental and College objectives. The role requires significant cross-functional collaboration, influence, and relationship management to achieve successful outcomes and support institutional priorities.
  • Represents the college on special initiatives or task forces at the provincial and national levels.
  • Promotes and models the values of the College by promoting a learning and working environment where individuals are treated with dignity and respect.
  • Reviews and recommends professional development plans for the staff who report directly.
  • Facilitates effective team interactions; serves as a role model and works to motivate and build positive relationships within and among the team.

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated success in the role of an academic administrator, preferably at the managerial level, in at least a similarly sized post-secondary institution with a minimum of three years of relevant experience. Knowledge of B.C. post-secondary system.
  • Demonstrated ability to creatively build relationships with experience in negotiating and securing funding contracts with business, industry, community organizations and various levels of government.

  • Be willing to travel, as required, to meet the objectives of the position.
