DXP | HSE Integrated is looking to hire a Confined Space Rescue Technician for our Fort McMurray station. The Confined Space Rescue Technician is expected to participate in rescue situations and critical tasks.

Duties / Responsibilities :

  • Facilitate rescue in the event of an incident involving personnel who are working in confined spaces
  • Inspect, inventory and document all equipment at the beginning of each shift
  • Set up and test communications and alarm systems.
  • Ensure all gas detection and breathing apparatus equipment is inspected prior to use and passes a function test. Must have the ability to set up and dismantle both breathing air systems and gas detection equipment.
  • Ability to problem solve and utilize interpersonal skills while maintaining a level of professionalism at all times.
  • Knowledge of the whereabouts of all safety equipment
  • Other duties will be assigned as necessary

Requirements :

  • Previous experience working in a Confined Rescue capacity is considered an asset
  • Standard First Aid / CPR
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good vision / hearing
  • Clean drivers abstract
  • Experience running breathing air systems

    • Physically capable of performing the following tasks :

  • Working at heights and / or climbing ladders or stairs
  • Working in small / confined spaces
  • Lifting up to 50lbs
  • Pushing / pulling (tools / objects)
  • Sitting / driving
  • Bending / kneeling / crouching
  • Standing / walking for long periods of time
  • Working in adverse weather environments (heat / cold) and conditions (rain / wind / snow)

    • Potential shift lengths 10 – 12 hours, should be available to work longer if client requires longer shifts or schedule changes

  • Additional training and certifications may be necessary to meet client specifications.
