About Our Client

Our client is an established and growing retail organization with a strong presence in British Columbia. They are looking for an Assistant Store Manager to join their Vancouver team.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for someone with retail experience who enjoys working with customers, taking on leadership responsibilities, and learning all aspects of store operations. The successful candidate will initially support the Store Manager and, over time, receive training and development with the opportunity to progress into a Store Manager position.

Location: Vancouver
Schedule: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, with occasional weekend shifts
Hours: Approximately 32–40 hours per week
Compensation: Starting at $23 per hour

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager with the daily operations of the retail store.
• Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive customer experience.
• Assist customers with product selection, questions, and purchases.
• Support the team in achieving sales and customer service goals.
• Open and close the store as required.
• Assist with cash handling, transactions, and daily reconciliation procedures.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and welcoming store environment.
• Assist with merchandising, inventory management, receiving, and product organization.
• Help monitor stock levels and ensure products are properly displayed.
• Support and guide team members during daily operations.
• Assist with training and onboarding new employees.
• Handle customer concerns professionally and work toward effective resolutions.
• Help ensure company policies, procedures, and service standards are followed.
• Take initiative in identifying operational needs and assisting with day-to-day problem-solving.
• Work closely with the Store Manager and team to ensure smooth store operations.
• Take on increasing leadership responsibilities as training and experience are gained, with the opportunity to progress into a Store Manager role.

Qualifications

• Previous retail experience is required.
• Previous leadership, supervisory, or key-holder experience is an asset.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Professional, friendly, and confident approach when interacting with customers.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Reliable and dependable with a strong work ethic.
• Quick learner with the ability to learn new products, systems, and procedures.
• Comfortable taking on leadership responsibilities and supporting a team.
• Flexible to work occasional weekends as required.
• Must be available to work approximately 32–40 hours per week.
