Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia is currently searching for a Registration Assistant, Academic Assessment to join our team in Burnaby on a contract until the end of June 2027. The Registration Assistant, Academic Assessment will support the needs of the Registration Department’s Academic Assessment Program specific to the intake of applications for all designations and the creation and updating of online training modules, as well as general support of other admissions-related activities. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Provides support to the academic assessment team by assisting in the intake of applications for all designations.

Key duties include: reviewing and approving identity documents and academic documents including transcripts; preparing, reviewing and approving statutory declarations; updating internal databases; and communicating with applicants.

Participates in: identifying academically qualified and non-academically qualified individuals and providing the relevant information to the applicant; processing applications from graduates of accredited engineering programs; evaluating non-academically qualified engineering applicants.

Participates in the evaluation of academics of geoscience applicants; identifies their degrees and fulfilment of academic requirements with respect to the Act , Bylaws, and Credentials Committee policies; categorizes and provides appropriate process routing for applicants.

Communicates decisions, including examination assignments, to applicants.

Assists in the creation and updating of online training modules built on the Articulate platform.

Participates in shared department team functions such as: responding to emails and phone calls; scanning mail and properly cataloging application-related documentation; generating and mailing registrant certificates; processing electronic transcripts; providing support at reception.

Other duties as assigned by direct leader and, as appropriate, members of the departmental leadership team.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE The successful applicant will possess the following: Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Human Resources, Communications, Business, or a related area is preferred.

  • 2-5 years previous relevant experience.

Additional training in credentials evaluation is an asset. Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and adapt quickly to emerging priorities.

Exceptional customer service skills.

Proficiency in core Microsoft Office programs, and ability to learn new programs.

Knowledge and application of privacy policy, records security and document management protocols.

This role offers a competitive compensation and benefits program including an annual salary within our hiring range of $55,000 to $62,000 (pro-rated based on the length of contract).

For full-time contract employees on this length of contract, we offer: 8% additional pay in lieu of benefits.

  • 10 vacation days per annum (pro-rated based on the length of contract). A flex day program offering additional paid days off (usually alternating Fridays) as a result of a compressed work week. A hybrid work model with an assigned schedule confirming days worked remotely and days worked in-office.

This role will be required to work in-office a minimum of 2 days per week during regular business operations. The required tools, equipment, and technology for employees to work remotely are provided. Free parking at the office, or a transit reimbursement offered to employees who take transit to work; we are centrally located near bus and Skytrain stops.
