Family Physician ROS (200-1917) (Permanent Family Practice)

Protea Medical Clinic is seeking a Family Physician to join our team in the heart of downtown Duncan. Located at the corner of Canada Avenue and 3rd Street, Protea is a warm, close-knit family practice where physicians are genuinely valued — not just for their productivity, but as essential members of a clinical family built around long-term, trusted relationships with patients.

Protea's space is modern, comfortable, and thoughtfully laid out for both efficient clinical work and genuine connection between colleagues — a clinic that feels less like a workplace and more like a second home. You'll be supported every day by a dedicated administrative and clinical support team who take care of the operational details of running a practice, so your time and energy stay focused on your patients.

This role will encompass Longitudinal Family Practice with primary care clinic work, in-hospital care for attached patients, long-term care with the option for maternity and palliative care. You won't be building a practice in isolation. Protea's physician team — Dr. Jan Malherbe, Dr. Nicholas Hargrove, and Dr. Zaan Davies — has built a culture of real collegiality: informal curbside consults, mutual coverage, shared clinical problem-solving, and the kind of day-to-day camaraderie that makes longitudinal family practice sustainable over the long run. Overhead

Protea Medical Clinic offers flexible overhead arrangements, including either a competitive fixed percentage overhead (25%) or a shared monthly expense model.

Our overhead structure is designed to be among the most competitive in the region, and we are happy to discuss the options with you to find an arrangement that best supports your practice, career goals, and preferred way of working.

Hours of Work

Clinic hours: Monday - Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

Benefits

May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA), including (subject to change):

• Recruitment Incentive: up to a maximum of $10, (pro-rated based on FTE)
• Relocation: up to a maximum of $15, (amount based on location relocating from)
• Flat fee: $6,.80
• Fee Premium: 4.20%
• CME: $2,/annum year 3-4 and $4,/annum after 4 years in the community.
