Job Overview

We are actively hiring experienced Lane Closure Technicians (LCTs) to join our team under Glen Group supporting projects across the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island.

This role is for LCTs who are confident running full lane closures, reading and drawing Traffic Management Plans (TMPs), completing FLRAs, and working on active road and infrastructure sites. You will be trusted to manage setups, adjust to live traffic conditions, and maintain safe, efficient work zones. If you’re looking for steady, year-round work, organized operations, and proper support in the field, this is a solid opportunity.

What We Offer

  • $28–$30/hour (based on your experience)
  • Consistent, year-round work with stable project flow
  • New trucks provided for field operations to support your day-to-day work
  • Strong support from dispatch, fleet, and operations so you’re not working alone in the field
  • Well-organized job sites with proper planning and coordination before shifts
  • Opportunity to grow as the company expands and new projects come in

Requirements

  • Minimum 1–2 years LCT experience (required)
  • Ability to read and draw Traffic Management Plans (TMPs)
  • Ability to complete FLRA (Field Level Risk Assessment)
  • Strong awareness of site hazards and safety risks
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license & Clean driver’s abstract
  • Good communication with crew, TCPs, and supervisors
  • Reliable, alert, and safety-focused

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and follow Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) to set up proper lane closures, tapers, and detours based on site requirements
  • Calculate and set up correct taper lengths, buffer zones, and sign spacing depending on road speed and conditions
  • Install and position cones, delineators, signs, barricades, and arrow boards in the correct sequence and placement
  • Operate and position LCT trucks and equipment safely, including proper placement for lane closures and work zones
  • Perform FLRA (Field Level Risk Assessment) before starting work and update throughout the shift as conditions change
  • Identify site-specific hazards (traffic speed, visibility, weather, blind spots, pedestrian activity) and adjust setups accordingly
  • Conduct pre-shift and ongoing inspections to ensure all signage and equipment remain visible, secure, and compliant
  • Monitor live traffic flow and make real-time adjustments to lane closures to maintain safety and efficiency
  • Coordinate closely with TCPs, supervisors, operators, and construction crews to ensure smooth workflow
  • Maintain constant communication using radios or site communication systems during active operations
  • Respond immediately to incidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions and report them as required
  • Safely modify, expand, or reduce lane closures based on project needs and supervisor direction
  • Ensure proper setup at the start and full removal/cleanup at the end of each shift
  • Complete daily logs, FLRA forms, and incident reports accurately and on time
  • Maintain a strong focus on public safety, crew safety, and compliance with MOTI standards at all times

Work Conditions

  • Year-round work available
  • Outdoor work in all weather conditions
  • Projects across Lower Mainland & Vancouver Island
  • Flexible to work Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends as needed

👉 If you can confidently run lane closures, draw TMPs, and handle live traffic sites—apply now.
