Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Water & Wastewater Operations Supervisor (EOCP Level 3) on behalf of a leading utility services organization in Kamloops, BC.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced operations leader with a strong background in water, wastewater, utility infrastructure, and field operations. In this role, you will oversee daily utility operations, maintenance programs, regulatory compliance, and operational performance while leading a team of operators and technical staff.

  • Pay Rate: $88,000 - $120,000 per year
  • Location: Kamloops, BC | Occasional travel to operational facilities, utility sites, and infrastructure projects
  • Job type: Permanent | Full-time

Responsibilities:
Utility Operations & System Performance

  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and performance of water, wastewater, and utility infrastructure systems.
  • Monitor system performance and implement corrective actions to improve reliability, efficiency, and service delivery.
  • Utilize SCADA and other monitoring systems to support operational performance and system optimization.
  • Investigate operational issues and implement solutions to minimize service disruptions and equipment failures.

Maintenance & Asset Management

  • Manage preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Support asset reliability, lifecycle planning, and equipment performance initiatives.
  • Assist with inventory management and operational resource planning.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of operators and field personnel.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management activities.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure employees have the training, tools, and support required to perform their work safely and effectively.

Safety, Compliance & Emergency Response

  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures, emergency response plans, and safe work practices.
  • Conduct site inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits.
  • Participate in and oversee emergency response activities when required.

Project & Contractor Coordination

  • Coordinate work performed by internal teams, contractors, and service providers.
  • Support operational improvement projects and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with operational requirements.

Financial & Administrative Support

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and operational planning activities.
  • Monitor operational expenditures and identify opportunities for increased efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and compliance documentation.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in water, wastewater, utility, municipal infrastructure, or related operations.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Experience leading maintenance programs and field operations teams.
  • EOCP Water Operator Level 3 and/or Wastewater Operator Level 3 certification considered a strong asset.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Strong knowledge of water treatment, wastewater treatment, utility operations, and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Experience working with SCADA and CMMS systems.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, hazard assessments, and safe work practices.
  • Strong leadership, employee development, and coaching skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Confined Space Awareness and First Aid certifications are considered assets.
  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
