Hi! My name is Yesica, and I’m looking for a loving, patient and reliable nanny to care for my 10-month-old baby. The main focus will be caring for him throughout the day: playing with him, feeding him, changing diapers, helping with his two naps and keeping him engaged with age-appropriate activities. He is an active, bigger baby who loves to play and explore. He can be a little fussy and may cry when he does not see me, so I’m looking for someone who is patient, calm and comfortable caring for a baby who may need extra reassurance and soothing. He does not usually drink milk during the day. I give him milk when I return from work, but the nanny will be responsible for following his regular meal and snack schedule. His meals will already be prepared. During mealtimes, the nanny will feed him and clean up anything related to his meals, including his dishes, high chair and the surrounding area. I would love for the nanny to bring or plan simple, age-appropriate, educational activities to keep him active, entertained and engaged throughout the day. Activities could include reading, singing, sensory play, floor play, music, practicing movement skills and playing with his toys. Cleaning up toys and keeping his play and care areas tidy would also be part of the role. When the weather is appropriate, outdoor time is encouraged. The nanny may take him for walks in his stroller, as he often falls asleep during stroller rides, or take him to nearby activities. The library is only one block from our home, and they could attend storytime or play with the toys there. They could also go for a walk along the riverfront or enjoy other outings close to home when it is safe and comfortable. Please note that my apartment building has stairs and no elevator, so the nanny should be comfortable using the stairs while carrying or managing a stroller and baby when needed. The ideal person will: • Have experience caring for babies, especially around 10 months old • Be patient, calm and comfortable with a baby who may cry when separated from his parent • Know how to gently soothe and reassure a fussy baby • Be comfortable caring for an active, bigger baby independently • Be comfortable lifting and carrying him when needed • Be patient and supportive during his naps • Enjoy planning and doing age-appropriate activities • Be attentive to feeding, snacks, diaper changes and his daily routine • Enjoy reading, singing, playing and taking the baby on nearby outings • Provide a safe, warm and loving environment • Have First Aid/CPR certification, preferably infant CPR • Have a Vulnerable Sector Check • Be able to provide references • Be comfortable with security cameras inside the apartment for the safety of my baby and everyone in the home • Be comfortable using stairs, as the building does not have an elevator Schedule: October 12–14, 8...
