Casual Recreation Event and Program Staff Reporting to the Manager of Recreation Programs and Special Events, or designate the Casual – Recreation Event and Program Staff will help implement Town-led programs and events.
Based on the Recreation Event and Program Staff skills, some of the job responsibilities of the position include: • Lead/support recreation programs such as Little Dancers, Ninja, Birthday Parties, Parents and Tots Gym, After School Programs, etc.
- • Provide instruction to children and provide feedback to participants • Ensure that equipment/supplies are set up, operational, and stored • Provide administrative support for programs and events • Support events including the Block Parties, Migration Festival, Fantasy of Lights, etc.
- • Follow Town and legislated policies and procedures • Respond to customer inquiries and provide exceptional customer service • Suggest improvements to programs based on feedback and observations • Supervise designated skating sessions to ensure safety and a positive experience for all participants • Apply High Five principles in the planning and delivery of programs • Other duties as assigned Qualifications • Must be 16 years of age or older • Must be available to work weekends, weeknights, holidays, and PA days • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook • Able to work independently and as part of a team • Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- • Creative and flexible approach to programming and problem-solving.
- • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR/AED certification, or willingness to obtain • Completion of High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development certification, or willingness to obtain.
- • If involved in skate monitoring, you must be a confident skater and supply your own skates and an approved helmet.
Working Conditions • Work is typically performed in both office and outdoor environments, with the potential for exposure to adverse weather conditions.
Hourly Rate of Pay • $18.36 per hour first year • $20.36 per hour second year Application Deadline: Friday, September 18, 2026 at 4:00 PM.
