ROLE IMPACT:
The purpose of this role is to support the successful introduction, application and adoption of mining technologies
within underground mining operations by providing technical expertise, product validation, customer training and
operational support. Leveraging underground mining experience and product knowledge, the role acts as a key link
between customers, operations and technical teams to ensure safe implementation, successful trials and
sustainable customer outcomes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Application & Commercialization Support
- Lead project-based work at customer sites, including project initiation, on-site implementation, testing, and commissioning of Hypex Bio explosive technolog
- Act as the on-site technical lead during deployments, first-use trials, and technology introductions, ensuring correct application and safe adoption of Hypex Bio products.
- Define, apply, and adjust application methodologies, testing parameters, andoptimisation.
- Provide technical training and guidance to customers and site personnel on correct application, system use, and operational best practices.
- Perform limited, non-routine maintenance activities only where required to support testing or application work, ensuring product performance and system reliability during trials.
Customer & Stakeholder Support
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with customers and site personnel.
- Support customer training and technology adoption initiatives.
- Maintain professional communication with operations, technical, engineering, and commercialization teams.
- Represent the organization professionally on customer sites.
Underground Blasting & Production Activities
- Perform loading activities in accordance with approved blast designs and site
procedures. - Clean and prepare development round/long hole stope for charging activities.
- Support the safe and efficient execution of production blasting.
- Operate site electronic blasting systems.
- Time, record, and document blasting activities.
- Prepare underground work areas for blasting operations.
- Operate underground equipment including utility vehicles, and other approved mobile equipment.
- Conduct pre-operational inspections and report equipment defects.
- Read and interpret mine plans, blast plans, and underground layouts.
- Mentor and support less experienced crew members
Health, Safety & Environment
- Take responsibility for own health and safety and that of others.
- Ensure compliance with all company, customer, and regulatory safety requirements.
- Identify, correct, and report unsafe acts and conditions.
- Promote safe work practices and a positive safety culture.
- Comply with all explosive's legislation, site standards, and underground mining regulations.
- Participate in continuous improvement of safety performance
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Basic Underground Core (U0000, U0001, U0002 and U0012)
- U0006 Blast Block
- U0024 Operate Utility Vehicle (Desired)
Experience:
- 5+ years mining experience, including 3 years as long hole loader/development miner
- Heavy machinery experience
- Train the Trainer (Desired)
