Digital Workplace Administrator

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is currently looking for a Digital Workplace Services Administrator - Entra ID with 5+ years of IT administration experience, including 3+ years supporting Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and cloud-based identity and access management services. This is a 1-year contract opportunity with an organization in the energy sector based in Calgary, Alberta. The role is hybrid, with 3 days per week onsite in downtown Calgary.

Project Overview:
The Digital Workplace Services (DWS) Administrator - Entra ID reports to the Manager, Digital Workplace Services and supports the administration, implementation, and ongoing operation of Microsoft Entra ID and related Microsoft 365 services.

The primary focus of the role is the design, configuration, testing, and support of Entra ID application identity and access solutions across the client’s tenants and application environments.

The Administrator works closely with application designers, developers, security teams, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, develop application registration designs, complete configuration, and support testing and validation.

This intermediate-level role requires a solid technical foundation, the ability to follow and improve established procedures, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to create and maintain clear design and operational documentation.

Qualifications:

• Completion of a post-secondary diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Microsoft certification related to Microsoft Entra ID, Identity and Access Management, or Microsoft 365 administration is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in information technology administration, support, or a related technical role.
• 3+ years of experience supporting Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, or cloud-based identity and access management services.
• Experience designing, configuring, implementing, and administering identity, access, and authentication solutions.
• Experience implementing and supporting application onboarding, integration, and access management solutions.
• Experience gathering and documenting technical requirements and translating them into technical designs and operational solutions.
• Experience collaborating with application teams, developers, technical stakeholders, and business partners to deliver technology solutions.
• Knowledge of application architecture, authentication patterns, APIs, and application integration concepts.
• Experience following change management, configuration management, security, and operational support processes.
• Knowledge of modern identity, authentication, and access management concepts and best practices.
• Experience with DevOps documentation practices, including wikis, Markdown, or similar documentation platforms, is considered an asset.
• Experience with scripting, automation, and administration tools such as PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, Visio, or similar technologies is considered an asset.
• Strong documentation, communication, collaboration, analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to follow established standards and procedures while identifying opportunities to improve documentation, processes, and operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities:
Microsoft 365 Administration

• Administer and support Microsoft 365 services, ensuring platform reliability, security, and operational effectiveness.
• Support incidents, service requests, changes, and operational activities related to Digital Workplace technologies.
• Contribute to service improvements, documentation, monitoring, reporting, and ongoing platform optimization.

Entra ID Administration

• Administer and maintain Microsoft Entra ID, including identity, access, authentication, authorization, and directory-related services.
• Support the design, implementation, and operation of identity and access management solutions in alignment with organizational standards and security requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve identity, access, and authentication-related issues across users, applications, and integrated services.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and standards related to identity and access services.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support secure and effective identity lifecycle management

Application Identity and Access Management

• Design, configure, and support Entra ID application registrations and enterprise applications across AESO environments,
• Work closely with application designers, developers, security teams, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into identity and access solutions.
• Support the implementation, testing, validation, and ongoing administration of application authentication and authorization configurations.
• Develop and maintain application registration, design documentation and operational support procedures.
• Identify opportunities to standardize, improve, and automate application onboarding and identity integration processes
