The position is be based at our Saint-Hyacinthe plant

Your role

The Assistant Controller plays a key role within the plant’s finance team. You will be responsible for daily financial operations, preparing financial reports, and conducting cost analyses to support strategic decision‑making.

What you will accomplish daily

Financial Management

• Support the Finance Director in monitoring and analyzing plant budgets
• Prepare monthly financial reports in collaboration with operational teams
• Participate in the month‑end closing process and prepare accounting entries
• Assist with investment project evaluations, long‑term planning, productivity initiatives, and special projects
• Learn and apply continuous improvement principles across all functional processes in the plant

Cost Analysis

• Analyze and track production costs and plant losses, identifying improvement opportunities
• Collaborate with other departments to gather data required for cost analysis

Capital Assets & Depreciation

• Participate in physical inventory counts of plant fixed assets and spare parts
• Contribute to analyses supporting short‑ and long‑term financial planning

Compliance & Audits

• Assist in preparing documentation for financial audits
• Ensure financial controls are followed and properly documen

What you need to join our team

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role
• Expertise with SAP
• Relevant experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment
• Bilingualism (interactions with various internal and external stakeholders across Canada)
