A Day in the Life As a Junior Environmental Scientist/Technologist, in Fort St. John, British Columbia, you’ll be responsible for assisting multiple projects where you will have increasing interaction with our multi-disciplinary staff, regulatory agencies and clients. You will be part of a strong team of committed professionals. The compensation range for this role is $24.00 to $35.00, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location To thrive in this role, you’ll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities: Active participation in maintaining our strong safety culture Lead and assist with simple to moderately complex contaminated site field investigations or reclamation projects Act as a leader in the workplace using the Onterris Standard Operating Safety and Technical Procedures Supervise sub-contractors Initial interpretation of field data to make field-related decisions Work with senior technical advisors to ensure high quality products that meet our clients’ unique project needs Communicate and liaise with clients and project related stakeholders Manage project related timelines and budgets Preparation of technical correspondence, proposals, work plans, cost estimates, and summary reports Function effectively as part of a collaborative team Your Expertise and Skills These requirements reflect the knowledge, skills and abilities that help you do your best work here. A degree or technical diploma in environmental science, geology, hydrogeology or engineering 1+ years’ experience managing assessment, reclamation, remediation and monitoring projects for Oil and Gas clients within a consulting environment would be considered an asset Eligibility for registration in or maintaining a good standing in a professional organization Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision Self-motivated and possess strong communication skills (verbal and written) A strong knowledge of British Columbia regulatory framework Experience writing technical reports Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management Work Environment and Physical Requirements The physical and environmental requirements below reflect what’s typically needed to perform the essential functions of this role safely and effectively.
