Reporting to the Unit Manager, the Nurse Clinician in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) provides clinical leadership, education, and support within the Surgery Program. Working in accordance with the standards of the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA), the Nurse Clinician delivers expert peri-anesthesia and post-surgical nursing care while promoting evidence-informed practice and clinical excellence. As a key member of the Surgical Services leadership team, the Nurse Clinician coordinates multidisciplinary care to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality patient care. The role provides clinical leadership, mentorship, and education for nursing staff, supports the coordination of daily patient care activities, and advances specialized surgical services. The Nurse Clinician also advocates for patients by fostering collaboration and communication between the Surgical Suites and inpatient units to promote seamless, patient-centred care throughout the surgical journey. We are seeking candidates with demonstrated expertise in peri-anesthesia or critical care who possess strong clinical knowledge, sound judgment, and a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality peri-anesthesia and post-surgical care. As a Nurse Clinician (NC), you will be responsible for coordinating an interprofessional team in the provision of quality patient (client, resident) care to meet operational priorities and requirements within a clinical setting. You will use an integrative leadership approach to assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating care needs, while assuming responsibility for staff assignments, patient flow, and clinical resources. You will play a key role in providing safe, high-quality, patient- and family-centred care while reflecting the organization¿s shared vision and values. Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:

Graduate from an approved School of Nursing required -CurrentCARNA andBCLS certification required -3 years recent experience in an urban PACU or intensive care (ICU). -Strong ECG interpretation knowledge. Experience in the following areas: Caring for intubated patients; working with central and arterial lines; assisting with inotropes/vasoactive medications; & experience with caring for post-surgical in-patients. Current charge nurse experience required. Demonstrated advanced communication and leadership skills required. Demonstrated computer skills required i.e. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar), and Connect Care. Demonstrated ability to deal with stressful situations. Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative practice with other health care disciplines. Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal/conflict management skills. Demonstrated Patient and Family Centered Care practices Preferred Qualifications:
