Position Summary Apprentice Pipefitters possess the full range of knowledge required to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for oil, steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing systems. Employees are expected to support and participate in a “culture of safety” and adhere to and be ambassadors of Strike’s Code of Conduct and Values, and to treat others with dignity, respect, and fairness.

14 days on / 7 days off

Travel Allowance:

$400/shift

Camp Retention:

$25/day

Core Accountabilities

Assist with installation, testing and rigging of pipe spools and materials.

Assist with Bolt up of piping spools and torquing of the flanges

Assist with Hydrotesting of piping spools

Assist heavy equipment operators to secure attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in safely moving equipment and aid in other activities.

Participate in pre-job toolbox meetings to identify potential hazards and measures to eliminate or minimize them.

Return tools back to the proper area after the job is complete or at the end of the shift.

Identify and report hazards or unsafe work practices.

Ensure the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment while performing tasks.

Minimum Qualifications Education

CSTS 2020 or Common Safety Orientation (CSO)

Bear or Wildlife Awareness course

Standard First Aid CPR-C & AED (St. John Ambulance or Canadian Red Cross) or WorkSafe BC Occupational First Aid Level 1 (OFA 1) Training Certificate

WHIMIS 2015 (Strike can provide when onboarding)

Transportation of Dangerous Goods – TDG (Strike can provide when onboarding)

Fall Protection Training

Arial Work Platform Training

Experience

Must have experience rigging and moving pipe spools

Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities

Must be able to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing

Able to lift 50 pounds

Comfortable working outdoors
