Harbour House is currently seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to join our growing team! This is a great opportunity that can provide flexibility, valuable work experience, and a chance to work with a tenured team.

Job Title: Housekeeping Supervisor
Location: Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON
Property: Harbour House

This posting is for an existing vacancy within Lais Hotel Properties Limited.

Position Summary: Assists the Manager in supervising the housekeeping team by ensuring all rooms and public areas are cleaned and maintained in a manner consistent with a superior quality hotel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Providing personalized and exceptional guest service at every given opportunity
  • Assists the Manager to ensure all rooms, public areas (and Spa for applicable properties) are clean and maintained in good operating order
  • Supervises Housekeeping Team Members to ensure duties are performed consistent with standard operating procedures
  • Monitors rooms on a regular basis to ensure that they are clean according to standards
  • Checks rooms prior to Guest check-in to ensure they are ready for Guests with respect to amenities, supplies and appropriate tidiness/cleanliness
  • Checks to ensure that all equipment is operating and if not, reports to maintenance to repair or replace if required
  • Ensures that all Guests’ special requests are fulfilled pertaining to room set up
  • Assists Executive Housekeeper with scheduling of Team members, reporting of payroll hours, Team Member concerns, coaching, inventories, uniform use and inventory control, etc.
  • Ensures that all cleaning supplies are in stock and Room Attendants have their supply of cleaners daily
  • Maintains Lost and Found program as required through tracking items, calling Guests, writing to Guests and checking for items left
  • Assists Room Attendants with cleaning if schedule is behind
  • Having a thorough knowledge of Lais Hotel Properties’ products and services
  • Suggesting additional products and services meeting our Guests’ specific preferences
  • Assessing Guests’ individual needs to meet standards for additional products and services
  • Actively seeking ways to meet Guests’ product or service needs

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Filling duty manager shifts when required
  • All other duties as assigned

Professional Requirements:

  • Computer skills an asset
  • 3-5 years hospitality industry through experience or courses required
  • Previous up-selling and/or sales experience is considered an asset

Personal Attributes:

  • Excellent organizational, communication and time management skills
  • Hospitality background an asset
  • Confidence in selling and up-selling products and services
  • Positive sales-oriented personality
  • Desire to meet goals
  • Ethical and honest

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting, bending, carrying and standing for prolonged periods of time
  • Working in seasonal temperature extremes in Guest rooms and in outside hallways
