POSITION : Okanagan Language Teacher

APPOINTMENT : 1.0 FTE Temporary

DURATION : September 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025

Qualifications Required :

• First Nations Language Teaching Certificate in Okanagan Language (as recognized by the BC Teacher Regulation Branch);
• recent successful experience teaching Okanagan language;
• fluent in speaking and writing in Okanagan and English;
• ability to model, teach and foster social, emotional and cultural awareness;
• knowledge of current 21st century pedagogy and assessment practices;
• demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to the professional community at the school and district level;
• effective communication, interpersonal, organizational and classroom management skills;
• ability to integrate technologies and digital citizenship into educational programs; and
• must have the following : First Nations Language Teaching Certificate in Okanagan languageand current eligibility for Teacher Qualification Service card.
