Combining a deep systems knowledge to develop unique vehicle access experiences, intelligent visions systems and advanced automotive lighting technologies, MML's expertise light the path to innovation, safety and styling.Job Responsibilities:Responsible and accountable to lead, manage, support and provide direction to all staff within the department through effective goals/objectives setting, performance monitoring and reviews, communication, and the execution of on-the-job training and development plans.Ensure a robust department structure by maintaining effective staffing levels and creating succession plans and related employee development plans to support current and future needs.Develop and execute an annual strategic plan for the department supporting company performance objectives and industry/field related benchmarking and trends.Collect, measure and monitor data related to the overall effectiveness of the department; benchmarking and analyzing these trends to establish action plans for continuous improvement (QOS process).Develop and implement new processes and procedures, as needed to support changing business demands.Facilitate effective two-way communication through department meetings (minimum monthly) and an Open Door philosophy.Facilitate and promote a work environment based on fairness and concern for people, in accordance with the principles of the Magna Employee Charter.Ensure visibility and accessibility to employees, by practicing Management By Walking Around (MBWA).Accountable for department budget preparation, approval and attainment.Ensure accounting practices are in accordance with Magna, Intier, GAAP, and Sarbanes-Oxley policies and requirements.Responsible overall for the month end close process, including but not limited to:The approval of all journal entriesEnsuring completeness of accrualsManagement of all financial reporting requirementsManagement and financial analysis of monthly financial statements.Responsible for preparing weekly/month/quarterly forecastsManage the year-end closing process, which includes year-end financial statements preparation, completion of external audit file requirements and to liase with external auditors to ensure an efficient and timely year-end audit.Manage the annual budget process and reporting requirements.Support department managers in understanding departmental cost structures and identify and promote opportunities for improvement.Identify, document, and communicate all accounting policies, procedures and standardsMaintain the signing authorization master list.Ensure all accounting and payroll records are properly archived.Management of payroll system.Ensure confidentiality of all proprietary and human resources related information.Overtime and travel may be required to support achievement of objectives.Perform other duties as requiredQualifications and Skills:Post-secondary Degree/Diploma in a related field.Minimum 2 years related experience.Accounting Designation (C.A., C.M.A., C.G.A.)Previous supervisory experience preferred.Salary Range: $100,000 to $120,000 annuallyVacancy Status: Immediate, open positionSite Benefits:Conveniently close to Highway 404 (Newmarket) /400 (Bradford)Medical and Dental BenefitsProfit Sharing (EEPPP) and Group RRSP ProgramCompany Paid Basic Life Insurance and AD&DCorporate Plans for Roger's Cellphone Data PlanEmployee Discounts: Auto and Home Insurance, Retail, Restaurants, etc.Awareness, Unity, Empowerment:At Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
