Job Description

Vortex Strategy & Recruitment is actively seeking for a Notary on behalf of its client, a well-established and highly respected notarial firm in the Trois-Rivières region.

Our client is looking to continue growing its team, particularly in corporate law, by welcoming a notary with between 3 and 7 years of experience. The successful candidate will maintain a diversified practice that includes residential real estate law, estate law, and a primary focus on corporate law matters.

Your Role and Responsibilities

• Advise the firm's clients across various areas of practice;

• Manage and oversee the preparation and progression of files entrusted by clients or the firm;

• Advise entrepreneurs, small and medium-sized businesses, and privately held corporations regarding their corporate law needs;

• Draft and review corporate and commercial documentation;

• Conduct due diligence reviews and coordinate the various stages of corporate transactions;

• Perform relevant corporate, personal property, and land registry searches, analyze findings, and provide appropriate recommendations in the context of commercial transactions, financing arrangements, and corporate reorganizations;

• Assist clients with residential real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, refinancing, and property transfers;

• Prepare, draft, and execute notarial deeds related to residential real estate transactions while providing legal advice tailored to clients' needs;

• Collaborate with financial institutions, real estate brokers, and other stakeholders to ensure transactions are completed efficiently and within established timelines;

• Communicate with various parties involved in client matters, including funeral homes, financial institutions, insurers, and government agencies;

• Perform any other duties related to the practice of a notary.

Requirements

• Between 3 and 7 years of experience in notarial law;

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B. or equivalent) and membership in the Chambre des notaires du Québec;

• Strong practical judgment and ability to work autonomously within a notarial practice;

• Excellent interpersonal and client relationship skills;

• Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset;

• Experience with Para-Maîtres software is considered an asset.
