Overview
We are looking for a Senior Underwriter to join our team! As the Underwriter, you will be responsible for evaluating new business submissions, managing an existing book of business while adhering to company service standards. This role involves exceptional carrier relationships, as well as a high level of professionalism and diplomacy. How you'll make an impact Underwrite new business, renewals, and endorsements within assigned authority and guidelines; quote, negotiate, bind, and authorize risks in line with departmental business plans. Assess risk acceptability, obtain additional information as required, render approval/decline decisions, and recommend solutions or referrals to company underwriters when outside authority. Coordinate and process renewals while ensuring all files, forms, and client details are accurate and up to date, working closely with underwriting teams and broker partners. Build and maintain strong broker relationships through ongoing communication, providing guidance, support, and cross-functional collaboration as needed. Identify and report broker training and educational opportunities through day-to-day interactions and participation in industry events and tradeshows. About you You are highly solutions oriented, always exceeding expectations through your resourceful and innovative approach with clients. Strong communication and interpersonal skills enable you to develop deep relationships with clients and build synergy with colleagues quickly. People love working with you, and you with them! Always maintaining a keen eye for detail comes easy and is key part of what has made you successful in your past roles. Highly tech-savvy, with the ability to learn new systems, tools and processes with ease. Education & Experience: Secondary School Diploma required, College or University Degree strongly preferred. 5 years of Commercial P&C Underwriting experience desired.
