What You'll Be Doing

Global Transaction Banking within Capital Markets supports financial institution clients with transaction banking solutions that help them move, manage and grow their business in Canada. As Director, Correspondent Banking Sales, you’ll lead growth across CIBC's Financial Institutions franchise, with primary accountability for expanding deposit balances and growing our Canadian Dollar Clearing business. You’ll build and deepen relationships with banks, broker-dealers, asset managers, insurance companies, pension funds, and other regulated financial institutions to identify opportunities across deposits, clearing, payments and liquidity management. Acting as a senior sales leader, you’ll originate new business, strengthen existing client relationships and position CIBC as a leading Canadian banking partner. Your success will be measured through deposit growth, Canadian Dollar Clearing volumes, client acquisition, revenue generation and expanded client wallet share.

How You'll Succeed

  • Drive deposit growth - Develop and execute sales strategies to attract and retain deposits across CIBC's financial institution client base. Build and manage a strong pipeline of opportunities that contribute meaningful, sustainable deposit balances and support annual growth targets.
  • Expand Canadian Dollar Clearing - Lead business development efforts to grow CIBC's Canadian Dollar Clearing franchise in domestic and international markets. Identify and onboard new clearing relationships while increasing payment volumes, clearing balances and transaction activity across existing clients.
  • Build strategic client relationships - Establish and strengthen senior-level relationships with treasury, finance, operations and executive management teams. Create account plans that deepen engagement, increase wallet share and position CIBC as the preferred partner for clearing, payments, liquidity management and operational banking services.
  • Originate new business - Lead client presentations, commercial discussions and prospecting activities aligned to CIBC's strategic objectives. Identify opportunities to grow relationships with regulated financial institutions through targeted business development strategies.
  • Deliver integrated client solutions - Partner closely with product, operations and technology teams to bring forward solutions that support deposit acquisition, client retention and a strong client experience. Identify ways to use settlement accounts, payment flows and operational banking services to support long-term growth.
  • Monitor market trends - Develop and apply market intelligence on clearing trends, competitor offerings and emerging client needs. Use insights to strengthen CIBC's market position and inform sales priorities across the franchise.

Who You Are

  • You're a seasoned sales leader. You bring deep experience in business development, relationship management and revenue growth within financial institutions, transaction banking, payments or a related area of capital markets or corporate banking.
  • You know the financial institutions landscape. You understand the needs of banks, broker-dealers, asset managers, insurance companies, pension funds and other regulated financial institutions, including how deposit, clearing and liquidity solutions create value for clients.
  • You're highly skilled at building relationships. You can connect with senior decision-makers and build credibility across treasury, finance, operations and executive leadership teams. You know how to turn relationships into long-term business growth.
  • You think strategically and act decisively. You can assess market opportunities, prioritize high-value prospects and develop focused sales plans that deliver measurable results across deposits, clearing activity and client growth.
  • You collaborate to deliver strong outcomes. You work effectively with partners across product, operations and technology to bring forward integrated solutions and a seamless client experience.
  • Values matter to you. You bring your real self to work and you live our values - trust, teamwork and accountability.
