Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner and assisting with general pharmacy inquiries.
Support prescription processing activities by receiving prescription information, performing data entry, preparing labels, and assisting with prescription pick-up procedures under the supervision of the Pharmacist.
Assist customers in locating over-the-counter medications, health and wellness products, and pharmacy merchandise.
Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale system.
Maintain pharmacy inventory through stock replenishment, rotation, inventory counts, monitoring expiry dates, and product ordering support.
Receive, stock, organize, and merchandise pharmacy products according to company standards and regulatory requirements.
Answer incoming telephone calls and direct inquiries appropriately while providing professional customer service.
Perform clerical and administrative duties including filing, record maintenance, report preparation, and documentation management.
Maintain strict confidentiality of patient, customer, and business information in accordance with privacy legislation and company policies.
Follow all pharmacy regulations, workplace health and safety standards, loss prevention practices, and company procedures.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and housekeeping standards throughout the dispensary and pharmacy retail area.
Support the Pharmacy Team with additional operational duties and special projects as assigned.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Pharmacy Assistant Certificate or related post-secondary education is considered an asset.
Minimum 1-2 years of customer service or retail experience preferred.
Previous pharmacy experience is considered an asset.
Experience handling confidential information in a professional environment is preferred.
Strong computer, keyboarding, and data entry skills.
Working knowledge of pharmacy software systems is considered an asset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and point-of-sale systems.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Current First Aid/CPR certification is considered an asset.
Commitment to ongoing learning and development within the pharmacy and healthcare industry.
Knowledge of WHMIS and workplace safety practices is considered an asset.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry merchandise and supplies up to 25 lbs.
Availability to work in a casual or part-time capacity, including a variety of shifts such as evenings, weekends, and holidays, with weekly hours ranging from 8 to 16 hours based on operational requirements.
