Project Technologist

Pinchin is hiring a Project Technologist in Labrador City. This is a replacement role that reports directly to the Operations Manager.

Role Overview

In this position, you will play an important role in supporting the Labrador City team with a wide range of field programs, including hazardous materials assessments, industrial hygiene work, environmental site assessments, and environmental monitoring programs for soil, water, and air. You will assist in developing various types of hygiene, health and safety documentation, prepare technical reports and liaise with clients to ensure their needs and goals are met. You will work in a variety of settings, including mining and industrial environments, communities, and wilderness locations, and may be required to independently operate company vehicles, all‑terrain vehicles, and snowmobiles as part of your field responsibilities.

You will receive site‑specific training from Pinchin experts to help you build confidence and technical capability in the role. Once trained, your work will support projects that protect workers, improve systems and building performance, and contribute to the health and resilience of our clients. You will assess field conditions, collect accurate data, and translate your findings into clear recommendations that help clients make informed decisions. You will also collaborate closely with colleagues and clients to understand project goals and deliver solutions that reflect quality, integrity, and care. Your Role and Action

• Complete in‑house office and field training in sampling programs, procedures, and project delivery.
• Conduct onsite sampling for ambient air, water, and hazardous materials.
• Support site investigations for asbestos, mould, mercury, PCBs, lead, and other hazardous materials.
• Complete field work, site visits, and supervision of remediation activities.
• Conduct Building Condition Assessments and Environmental Site Assessments.
• Investigate and evaluate moisture and air penetration in building envelope systems.
• Review, analyze, and interpret sample results in relation to legislation and industry guidelines.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, construction review reports, and summaries of field findings.
• Manage project time effectively while liaising with clients and subcontractors to support health, safety, hygiene, and positive client relationships.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Products.
• Availability to work outside our core business hours and rotational weekends (when needed).
• Valid driver’s license.
• There are times when employees are required by our clients to undergo security clearances and/or drug and alcohol testing in order to gain access to certain job sites.

Pay ranges are listed as required by law. Final compensation reflects each candidate’s education, experience, qualifications, and work location.
