Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Quality Assurance Analyst to join a collaborative technology team responsible for ensuring the quality, accuracy, and reliability of enterprise data and applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive testing strategies, validating data integrity, and working closely with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
This role is ideal for a QA professional with strong SQL skills, experience in data validation and test automation, and a solid understanding of Agile delivery practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Review business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories to understand project objectives and testing requirements.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, business analysts, and stakeholders to develop QA strategies and comprehensive test plans.
- Design, develop, maintain, and execute:
- Test Plans
- Test Cases
- Test Scenarios
- Test Scripts (manual and automated)
- Perform Integration, Functional, Regression, Performance, Data Validation, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Prepare and manage test data and maintain test environments.
- Execute test cases and document testing results.
- Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing, including scheduling, monitoring progress, and reporting outcomes.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution.
- Facilitate defect triage sessions and work closely with development teams to resolve issues efficiently.
- Monitor overall product quality throughout the development lifecycle.
- Produce regular QA status reports and communicate testing progress, risks, and issues to project stakeholders.
- Organize testing sessions and ensure testing environments and resources are properly configured.
- Participate in user feedback sessions and contribute to knowledge transfer and training documentation as product expertise develops.
- Identify project risks related to quality and testing, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Support additional project activities as assigned by the Team Lead or Manager.

- Test Cases, Test Scenarios, and Test Scripts
- Automated test scripts
- Test data and validation documentation
- Defect and Issue Logs

- QA Status Reports
- User Acceptance Testing documentation
- Other QA artifacts required to support successful project delivery
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3 years of recent experience in software quality assurance with a strong focus on application and data validation.
- Strong SQL skills with experience validating large datasets.
- Experience with data validation methodologies and testing best practices.
- Experience developing and executing manual and automated test cases.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft database technologies.
- Experience creating test plans, test scenarios, and test scripts.
- Experience with Functional, Integration, Regression, and User Acceptance Testing.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with Python for test automation or data validation.
- Experience working with Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, SoapUI, Fiddler, or similar automation frameworks.
- Experience with performance and load testing tools.
- Experience using Agile project management and tracking tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and validation.
- Experience working in a large, complex enterprise environment.
- Experience supporting projects within a unionized workplace is considered an asset.
