WHATS THE OPPORTUNITIY

We have an exciting opportunity foraFull-TimeChild and Family Therapistfor an 18-Month Contractto join our clinical team! In this roleyoullberesponsible forsupporting children youth and their caregivers and families by delivering exceptionalservice to our clients regardless of their financial means. You will use yourclinical training professional developmentandexpertiseto delivervaluablecounselling/psychotherapeutic services to individuals familiesand groups.


This role will primarily be working within the Cambridge region.

WHAT YOULL BE DOING:

  • Provide direct clinical service to children youthparentsand familieswhileensuring all services are based on holisticpractice and an integration of family focus wellness attachment theory resilience building methods and trauma-informed principles.
  • Deliver therapeutic interventionsutilizinga variety of treatmentmodalitiesto children and youth up to 18 years of age and their caregivers.
  • Provide individual trauma-informed therapies and group treatment to children youthparentsandtheir families tofacilitatetheir healing and reduction of trauma-related symptoms.
  • Liaise with familiesguardiansand service providers to ensureoptimumcoordination of services and collaborative working relationships.
  • Provide immediate support to clients in crisis including risk mitigation safetyplanningand connections to crisis services.
  • Offera range of comprehensive assessments to understand the clients needs; assesses other factors that may beimpactingthe client (e.g. environment family situation resettlement).

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR:

  • Masters degree in a counselling related field or Master of Social Work degree with fully registered status with the applicable college.
  • Exceptionalorganizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires balancing multiple demands and priorities.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities to deal with emotionally charged situations on a frequent basis.

ARE THERE BONUS POINTS

  • Experience working in a community setting.
  • Experience providing family counselling.
  • Knowledge of domestic violence and trauma.
  • Training and/or certification inadditionalclinical modalities (egCBT EMDRSFBT etc.)
  • Demonstrated understanding of attachment and trauma informed therapeutic interventions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working from an anti-oppressive practice approach.
  • 2 years relevant clinical experience (delivering counselling/psychotherapy crisis work family support) ideallywith children youth and families.

ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULDKNOW:

  • This is afull-time(37.5 hours per week)contractpositionlasting approximately 18 months in duration.
  • This role involves evening shifts a minimum of 2 times per week until 8pm.
  • You will be providing 5 direct hours of client service (eg.group individual sessions) per day.
  • This is a fully in-person role.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • SatisfactoryCriminal andVulnerable Sector Policecheck is.
  • Wage:$33.26 to $46.41per hour.This role is within the PRT (Registered Therapist Programs & Services) Job Grade.
