Who We Are

Join Fresh Prep — a dynamic leader revolutionizing how Canadians experience food through sustainable meal kit delivery. As one of Canada's fastest-growing companies and a certified B Corporation, we're committed to making it easier for people to eat well and live better.

We're proud to be recognized as a workplace where innovation meets impact. Our numerous accolades - including BC's Top Employers 2025, placement on The Globe and Mail's prestigious Canada's Top Growing Companies list and recognition as one of Deloitte’s Best Managed Companies - reflect our commitment to excellence in both customer experience and employee satisfaction. Our collaborative culture brings together passionate food lovers, sustainability champions, and tech innovators who are reshaping the future of food delivery.

Who You Are

  • Self Starter. You are comfortable owning a task from start to finish and you take the initiative to make continuous process improvements. You observe strict deadlines and hold yourself accountable for your deliverables.

  • Collaborative Team Player. You are motivated by collaborative team task achievement and driving a results-oriented culture.

  • Strong Communicator. Your verbal and written communication skills allow you to get results across easily and quickly, in a friendly and professional manner.

  • Adaptable. You thrive in a changing environment and are able to pivot direction easily.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Team Leadership: Provide direct leadership, mentoring, and coaching to a team of ~6 Purchasers, fostering an environment of high performance, accountability, and professional development.

  • Procurement Strategy & Execution: Oversee the end-to-end ingredient sourcing and purchasing process, ensuring that procurement aligns seamlessly with weekly Operations, Quality and Culinary requirements.

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the Purchasing Department SME in cross-functional meetings, representing the team’s needs while collaborating with Category, Culinary, Finance, Operations, and Warehouse teams to integrate best-in-class purchasing practices.

  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify and lead strategic sourcing and supply chain transformation initiatives, including executing RFPs, vendor consolidation, supply base rationalization, elimination of vendor redundancies, and diversifying through offshore supply sourcing.

  • Performance Management: Monitor, track, and report on department KPIs, ensuring the team consistently meets targets regarding spend, inventory health, and supplier performance.

  • Risk Mitigation & Troubleshooting: Proactively troubleshoot procurement challenges and supply chain disruptions; clearly identify risks and escalate critical issues to leadership with actionable recommendations and contingency plans.

  • Suppliers: Manage and maintain productive supplier relationships, ensuring adherence to quality standards and cost-effective performance metrics. Identify opportunities for supplier improvements and conduct RFP processes to improve supply chain performance.

  • Workflow Architecture & Systems Optimization: Design, build, and optimize procurement workflows and internal tech stacks. Leverage AI and data analytics to automate processes, reduce manual touchpoints, and deliver data-driven insights that scale the department’s operations.

  • Documentation & Compliance: Ensure that appropriate policies and standard operating procedures are established, documented, and maintained for all key purchasing activities.

What We Are Looking For:

You are a proactive problem solver and communicator. You identify risks, troubleshoot effectively, and escalate critical issues to leadership with actionable solutions. You can lead and inspire a team of purchasers, building an authentic, trust-based environment that fosters development, empowerment, and high performance. You challenge the status quo, seeking to continuously improve processes and procurement practices to support cost and quality within the Procurement function. You partner effectively with internal departments and external suppliers with the ability to balance multiple competing priorities.

  • You communicate with clarity and care. Your writing is crisp, your conversations land, and you know how to read the room. You listen as well as you speak.

  • You improve how work gets done. You see how the whole system connects, spot where things snag, and redesign processes so work runs smoother, faster, and smarter — anticipating how a change in one place ripples out to the rest. (Process Design & Improvement + Systems Thinking)

  • You source strategically. You know when to build and when to buy, weighing cost, capability, and long-term fit, and you look beyond price to build sourcing strategies and supplier relationships that create lasting value.

  • You solve problems with sound judgment. You bring fresh, creative ideas to old problems, and when it's time to decide, you weigh the trade-offs and exercise good judgment — even when the picture is incomplete or the clock is ticking.

  • You plan and organize with intention. You map out the path, sequence the work, and keep the moving pieces on track so goals actually get met.

  • You own your work. You do what you say you'll do, you follow through, and people know they can count on you.

  • You lift others up. You coach, mentor, and bring out the best in your team, helping people grow while moving the work forward.

  • You understand the importance of details. You balance a big-picture mindset with a keen eye for detail, thriving in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience leading teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment (foodservice, retail, or manufacturing). Proven ability to champion change, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and mentor high-performing teams.

  • Proven track record of leading high-impact sourcing initiatives, including end-to-end RFP management, vendor selection and onboarding, supply base rationalization, and the establishment of offshore supply channels.

  • Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing scalable procurement systems. Ability to evaluate, integrate, and optimize internal tech stacks to minimize manual touchpoints and maximize operational throughput.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain trust-based relationships with cross-functional internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

  • Beyond general software knowledge, experience using AI (e.g., LLMs, automated data analysis) and advanced data modeling to gain actionable supply chain insights and drive predictive decision-making.

  • Post-secondary degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related discipline. APICS (CPIM/CSCP) or PMAC (SCMP) certification is considered a strong asset.

  • English fluency is required. As the leader of our national procurement team, you will collaborate daily with stakeholders and vendors across Canada. Fluency in French is considered an asset.

What You Can Expect

  • Hybrid or Fully Remote (Flexible) - we prefer hybrid but are open to working from home for the right person if you’re not located near one of our Vancouver, Calgary or Montreal facilities.

  • Competitive salary that recognizes your skills and experience

  • An energetic, inclusive workplace where your voice matters and your contributions drive real impact

  • Comprehensive health benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance after 90 days

  • Exclusive food perks that let you experience our amazing products

  • A culture that celebrates innovation, encourages professional development, and supports work-life balance

  • The opportunity to be part of a certified B-Corporation making a tangible difference in sustainable food systems

At Fresh Prep, we work with a variety of ingredients, including common allergens like peanuts, tree nuts, and dairy.
