WE PROPOSE

Our agency in Toronto is seeking a highly qualified Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Assessment (PSHA) Engineer, as part of Bruce Power C project, to support future Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) reviews and analysis activities. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise in seismic hazard assessment, support nuclear safety evaluations, and work collaboratively with utility stakeholders to ensure high-quality analytical deliverables.

  • Prepare and review Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Assessments (PSHA) for nuclear facility applications.
  • Develop, review, and validate PSHA technical reports and supporting documentation.
  • Interface directly with utility stakeholders and subject matter experts to support seismic hazard evaluations and regulatory commitments.
  • Prepare, review, and verify engineering analyses and calculations required to support PSHA reviews.
  • Ensure technical work complies with applicable nuclear industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best engineering practices.
  • Provide technical recommendations and support continuous improvement initiatives related to seismic risk assessment methodologies.

YOUR PROFILE

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Seismology, or a related discipline.
  • Completion of EPRI Seismic Probabilistic Risk Assessment Training (Course 3002015162).
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) License in Ontario, in good standing.
  • Demonstrated experience in Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Assessment (PSHA) and/or Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) within the nuclear or highly regulated industries.
  • Strong technical report writing, analytical, and review skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to multidisciplinary stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting nuclear power plant safety assessments and licensing activities.
  • Familiarity with seismic probabilistic risk assessment methodologies and industry standards.
  • Previous experience working with utility organizations, regulators, or engineering consulting firms in the nuclear sector.
  • Knowledge of Canadian nuclear industry practices and regulatory frameworks.
  • Technical excellence in seismic hazard and risk assessment.
  • Engineering analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and quality assurance mindset.
  • Stakeholder engagement and collaboration.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
