Description de poste

Role: Reporting to the Executive Director, the Philanthropy Specialist drives Bladder Cancer Canada’s fundraising success by planning campaigns, diversifying revenue, and strengthening donor stewardship. In this role, you will leverage our existing database and conduct original research to build and manage a strategic pipeline of 125–150 prospects, ultimately cultivating and securing the annual and multi-year gifts vital to our mission.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement new opportunities to diversify BCC’s revenue sources as well as prospective donors and partners.

  • Coordinate and execute strategic fundraising plans to meet revenue targets across general donations, corporate and foundation partnerships, third-party fundraising, and signature campaigns like the Holiday Appeal and Giving Tuesday.

  • Submit grant proposals by determining their alignment with BCC and ensure the completion of deliverables.

  • Collaborate with the Communications Department to actively promote and grow all BCC fundraising campaigns and initiatives, including the development of a year-round digital fundraising campaign.

  • Oversee CRM database integrity (DonorPerfect), generating strategic data-driven reports to track campaign metrics and trends.

  • Manage the CRA-compliant charitable tax receipting process.

  • Act as a liaison between BCC, donors, sponsors, and community members, and build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and funding contacts.

  • Steward prospects, donors, and volunteers appropriately as needed.

  • Provide support to the Executive Director regarding funding opportunities, as required.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in fundraising, nonprofit leadership, or related field.

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience working in a health-related field or non-profit organization.

  • Excellent grant writing skills, including the ability to identify strategic funding opportunities and craft successful applications that drive organizational programs and initiatives.

  • Proven experience mining existing data to uncover untapped opportunities while actively converting new prospects into committed donors.

  • Superior oral and written communication skills, and interpersonal and/or customer service skills.

  • Strong technical skills and proficiency with Microsoft 365, CRM systems, and fundraising platforms like DonorPerfect and CanadaHelps.

  • Proven track record of building donor pipelines by data mining existing databases and successfully acquiring new donors.

  • A self-starter who excels in a fully remote role, with the flexibility to travel as needed for in-person donor meetings.

  • Occasional evening and weekend work required to attend events and meetings.

  • Occasional national travel may be required.

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

  • English-French bilingual candidates preferred.

Note: A police background check must be completed as condition of employment.

Benefits

  • Compensation: $56,000 annually (commensurate with experience).

  • A fully remote role built within a supportive, dynamic national team culture that values trust and flexibility.

  • 3 weeks of paid annual vacation to start, pro-rated for your first calendar year based on your start date.

  • Comprehensive health benefits package, including drug, vision, dental coverage, and a Health Spending Account.

  • Opportunity for professional growth within an expanding national organization.

This role will remain open until the position is filled. To apply, applicants must provide a cover letter and resume in pdf format.

We value diversity and inclusion and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. We thank all applicants for their interest, but only those selected for further consideration will be contacted.
