Licensed Practical Nurse

In collaboration with the Registered Nurse the LPN performs a wide variety of resident care functions within the scope of practice code of ethics and governing legislation. The LPN provides a leadership and supervisory role to the Continuing Care Attendant/Personal Care Worker.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting clients with various personal care activities
• Use of lifts and slings to transfer patients with a movement disorder
• Administration of medication
• Nighttime monitoring and assistance
• Light housekeeping (Laundry washing dishes sweeping and wiping of surfaces)
• Basic food prep of a blenderized feed for the clients
• Outings in the community
• Facilitation of community inclusion activities

Core Requirements:

• Current Licensed (or eligible for license) with the Nova Scotia College of Nurses
