Your role your impact
As a Junior Software Engineer youll support the Gaming Technology team in building maintaining and improving backend applications. Reporting to the Software Engineering Lead youll work closely with experienced engineers in an agile environment contributing to both day-to-day system stability and continuous improvement initiatives.
This is a varied fast-moving role where curiosity adaptability and problem-solving are key to successand where youll be exposed to modern technologies and practices that will accelerate your development as an engineer.
Build test and maintain backend applications using modern development practices
Troubleshoot production issues and resolve incidents across live systems
Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders in agile ceremonies and delivery cycles
Support and enhance APIs and backend services within production environments
Contribute to continuous improvement and system performance optimisation
Balance multiple tasks in a dynamic support-focused engineering environment
As part of your growth youll also gain exposure to modern engineering tooling and environments including cloud platforms containerisation and frontend frameworkshelping you broaden your skillset over time.
What youll need to succeed
Youre an early-career engineer who thrives on solving problems learning quickly and working across a variety of challenges. You bring a strong foundation in backend development and enjoy being hands-on in live environments. Most importantly you have the right attitude: curious resilient and eager to develop your skills in a fast-paced team-oriented setting.
Experience in JavaScript backend development using and TypeScript
Proven ability to build and support APIs and backend services
Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills in production environments
Ability to adapt to varied interrupt-driven work and changing priorities
Exposure to Databases and writing SQL queries
A growth mindset with enthusiasm to learn develop technical capability and build domain knowledge in gaming
Youre keen to grow

AWS cloud services or cloud-native application development
Containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes (EKS)
Frontend frameworks such as Angular
