In anticipation of opening in October 2026 we are searching for a full-time Continuing Care Assistantto join ournew DePaul Hall Enhanced Careteam based in Bedford Nova Scotia.

About the Opportunity
- Assistsresidents with hygiene and daily living activities such as bathing dressing oral care skin care meals and mobilizing according to the work assignment
- Assistswith residents special needs e.g. eye care colostomy and catheter
- Assistsin restorative care e.g. walking range of motion
- Provides mealtimeassistancewhenrequired
- Provides snacks morning and afternoon fluid passes and night lunches whilemonitoringintake
- Documents according to facility policy e.g. Daily Resident Care Record resident progress notesinitiatingmedication incident reportsserverydocumentation and audits incident reportsetc
- Communicates and reports pertinent and relevant information and/or observations to the Supervisor
- Collaborates with the resident and other members of the interdisciplinary team in the development of individualized Resident Care Plan
- Assistsin the planning and implementation of resident leisure activitiesdaily
- Assistswith light housekeeping duties
- Performs delegated nursing acts according to company policy and scope of practice
- Communicates and reports relevant informationregardingresident care or safety to Supervisor.
- Additionalrelated duties as assigned
About You
In addition to placing high value on continuous improvementcollaborationand accountability you bring:
- Completion of Continuing Care Assistant program or equivalency according to the CCA Entry to Practice Policy
- You are registered in Nova Scotias CCA registry as per the Continuing Care Assistants Registry Act
- For more information on how to become a certified CCA in Nova Scotia: hold a valid CPR/Frist Aid certification. (required)
- You can work a schedule of flexible hours and shifts inclusive of days nights weekends and holidays
- Completed Alzheimers and Dementia Care course considered an asset
- Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices
- Knowledge of principles of personal care including bathing oral hygiene
- Ability toutilizetechnology (i.e. Electronic Health Care Records)
- A completed Back in Form Lift & Transfer Program is considered an asset
- Bilingualism in French/English is considered an asset
- Previousworking experience with elderly in long-term care or a senior living environment an asset
- A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodationsservicesand care
