2026/2027, Fall Term, Course-Based Opportunity, B.Art/B.Ed. Integrated Program – PENT
PENT is seeking qualified, Contract Academic Staff to teach the following online course during the Fall session of 2026. The instructor will be responsible for content delivery with expectations consistent with offerings of this course within the appropriate department. Qualified candidates must possess strong teaching, communication and organizational skills, and demonstrate evidence of teaching effectiveness.
15.090 – Introduction to Biology – Monday Evenings
This course is designed for students who have not taken Biology in high school or lack the necessary background in biology to enroll in 15:151 The Biology of Life or 15:162 Cells, Genetics and Evolution. This course consists of four modules that highlight the main concepts in cell biology, genetics, evolution and biodiversity. Topics such as the chemistry of biological macromolecules, the structure and function of cells, Mendelian inheritance, basic molecular genetic mechanisms, natural selection, adaptation, speciation and biodiversity will be discussed to provide the required knowledge necessary to advance to 15:162.
Qualifications: Applicants should hold a minimum of a Master’s degree in an area related to the topic of instruction. Applicants may seek to establish an experiential/traditional equivalency to the Master’s degree and are invited to contact the Chair of the Selection Committee at the address below on how to establish equivalent academic or professional credentials.
Salary: $8132.00 per 3 credit hour course
