Our client is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to deliver a Real-time Transit Information System (RTIS) project - RFC-2026-025.
Initially12-month contract with chances of extension. 2 days/week onsite in New West.
Must have:
- 7+ years of business analysis and process improvement experience
- Previous experience in IT software delivery and/or technical projects.
- Experience in public sector organizations
- Ability to analyze data to inform decisions about the implementation. This includes understanding how to use data analysis tools and techniques.
- Experience with SharePoint.
Nice to have:
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA)
Project details:
- The purpose of this project is to determine internal versus purchasing external machine learning capabilities to improve bus prediction accuracy.
- Additional projects may include supporting the analysis of System Health Monitoring capabilities and operational improvements to streamline processes.
- The project is currently underway and the incumbent is expected to ramp-up and become productive quickly.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate internal machine learning enhancement opportunities.
- Assess vendor solutions and market offerings.
- Provide a clear build vs buy recommendation supported by evidence.
- Identify opportunities, risks, and primary objectives related to the project or initiative.
- Lead discussions with stakeholder groups to identify and analyze requirements using a variety of techniques such as interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, use cases/scenarios, market research and workflow analysis.
- Coordinate technology stakeholders to define solutions options and identify technology/service gaps.
- Evaluate potential technology solutions to ensure that they meet business requirements.
- Perform fit-gap analysis, as required.
- Prepare and present decision documentation to key stakeholders for decision-making.
- Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts and decompose high-level information into detailed functional and technical specifications.
- Document detailed business requirements and high level system design using standard project methodology and coordinate requirement walk-throughs and sign-offs with business stakeholders.
- Work with BTS staff and business stakeholders to document current as-is business processes, using standard business process notation and diagramming methods.
- Work with business stakeholders to design and document future to-be business processes, using TransLink’s standard business process notation and diagramming methods.
- Assist the project manager in developing and maintaining project plans and the WBS, as required.
- Support and/or lead the development of a Test Strategy and Plan.
- Develop Use Case Scenarios and evolve them into Test Scripts.
- In consultation with various stakeholders, develop and maintain the Requirements Traceability Matrix and ensure that the solution is delivered according to specifications.
- Support and/or lead User Acceptance Testing.
- Work with suppliers and other stakeholders to resolve conflicts around functionality, features, and specifications.
- Facilitate all BA-related communications and prepare and maintain relevant documentation.
