Your opportunity
Dillon’s Civil Infrastructure group is looking for a Civil Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team of professionals. You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience.
At Dillon, we operate as one team. This position is available at our Dillon Winnipeg or Brandon office.
Responsibilities
Project Management & Design
- Manage functional and detailed design for municipal and land development projects related to shallow and deep utilities, road works, site servicing, and storm water management.
- Lead design team activities, providing technical direction to project team members including junior staff, sub‑consultants and subcontractors.
- Liaise and develop strong relationships with private and public sector clients, including various City of Winnipeg departments, utility providers, and government review / approval agencies.
Learning & Development
Commit to self‑development and ongoing learning and professional development.Input to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring.Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees.Business Development
Identify and contribute to the development of new business opportunities. Demonstrate leadership in the maintenance of existing client relationships including in the preparation of proposals and statement of qualification. Business travel to other Dillon offices upon request.Qualifications
A degree in civil engineering.Licensed to practice as a professional engineer in Manitoba, or eligible to be licensed within six months.A minimum of 10 years’ relevant work experience.Proven leadership and business development capabilities.Project Management Professional (PMP) certification would be an asset.Experience
Demonstrated success in the leadership of multidisciplinary project teams and liaising with various governing bodies, utility providers, and clients.Experience in contributing to proposals / statements of qualification and supporting business development efforts.Experienced in the design of various municipal infrastructure including water supply systems, sewage systems, roadways, stormwater management works, underground and surface site servicing works, and / or waste management facilities.Experience with trenchless technologies and applications would be an asset.In depth knowledge of contract administration services and requirements, including Master Municipal Construction Documents or CCDC Contracts.Expert knowledge of municipal servicing standards and environmental approvals requirements.Expert knowledge of local municipal servicing standards (especially City of Winnipeg) and environmental approvals requirements.Strong proficiency in proposal and report writing, presentations, communications, organization and interpersonal skills.Exceptional communication (verbal and written) skills are essential.Why choose Dillon
