Description de poste

At Cover Architectural Collaborative, we're looking for an experienced Senior Architectural Technologist to help elevate the quality, consistency, and technical excellence of our work.

This is more than a production role. We're looking for someone who enjoys mentoring others, solving complex technical challenges, improving systems, and contributing to the growth of both projects and people.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Architectural Technologist, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality projects while strengthening our technical standards across the practice. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing high-quality construction drawings using Revit, SketchUp, and other architectural software.
  • Providing technical leadership, mentorship, and peer review to fellow technologists.
  • Participating in and helping lead our Quality Assurance (QA) Committee to continuously improve office standards, workflows, and documentation.
  • Coordinating with consultants and project teams throughout design and construction.
  • Preparing and reviewing specifications.
  • Managing contract administration and conducting field reviews.
  • Performing site measurements, site analysis, and documenting existing conditions.
  • Completing code and zoning reviews to ensure compliance with the BC Building Code and municipal bylaws.
  • Preparing and managing complete permit drawing packages.

Committee Leadership

We believe everyone contributes to improving how we work.

Senior team members are encouraged to participate in committees aligned with their expertise and interests. Committee Chairs help drive initiatives by:

  • Facilitating regular meetings and tracking progress.
  • Coordinating milestones and ensuring initiatives move forward.
  • Working with Operations to maintain accurate documentation and knowledge management.
  • Collaborating with Finance on budget approvals where required.

Committee members are expected to actively participate, complete assigned initiatives, and contribute while respecting our work-life balance and overtime policies.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • An Architectural Technology diploma or equivalent education.
  • 7+ years of experience as an Architectural Technologist within a Canadian architecture firm.
  • Extensive experience producing construction drawings and specifications across a variety of project types.
  • Experience mentoring or leading technical teams.
  • A strong background in quality assurance and technical review.
  • Eligibility for registration with the AIBC.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and a strong working knowledge of the National Building Code of Canada and the BC Building Code.
  • Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong references demonstrating technical excellence and collaborative leadership.

What Success Looks Like

By the end of your probationary period, you'll have:

  • Enhanced the quality and consistency of our technical documentation through improved QA processes and peer review.
  • Identified opportunities to improve drafting standards, workflows, and office efficiencies.
  • Built trusted relationships through mentorship and technical leadership.
  • Delivered accurate, coordinated, and high-quality construction documentation that supports successful project delivery.

If you're passionate about technical excellence, mentoring others, and helping shape the future of a collaborative architectural practice, we'd love to hear from you.
