Become a Board Member at Community Care Durham in Whitby, Ontario, and use your legal skills to influence community healthcare. This role is ideal for passionate leaders in a hands-on, in-person setting.
Community Care Durham is looking for dedicated local leaders with legal expertise to volunteer on their Board of Directors. The organization provides crucial support for individuals over the age of 16 and their caregivers. Ideal candidates are experienced legal professionals familiar with Ontario's Not-for-Profit Corporations Act and other regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure legal compliance and risk mitigation
• Collaborate on governance and strategic decisions
• Provide insights into labor and employment regulations
• Guide policy and procedural development
• Represent Community Care Durham publicly in engagements
Requirements:
• Expertise in legal or regulatory matters
• Knowledge of health law and privacy protections
• Understanding of contract law and real estate issues
• Required police check for volunteers
• Retired or active legal professionals encouraged to apply
