Human Resource Genaralist

An established and growing construction company in the Charlottetown area is seeking a Senior HR Generalist / HR Manager to lead all human resources functions.

This is a standalone HR role, ideal for someone who enjoys working in a hands‑on environment while also contributing at a strategic level. Reporting directly to ownership, you will play a key role in supporting day‑to‑day operations and helping shape the company’s people practices as it continues to grow.

What You’ll Be Doing

Serve as the sole HR contact for a team of approximately 40–60 employees

Manage full‑cycle recruitment for both field and office roles

Handle employee relations, including performance management and investigations

Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and documentation

Ensure compliance with employment standards and workplace regulations

Support onboarding, training, and employee development initiatives

Partner with leadership on workforce planning and retention strategies

Assist with payroll and benefits administration

Provide practical HR guidance to supervisors and team members

What We’re Looking For

5+ years of HR experience, ideally in a standalone or senior‑level role

Experience in construction, trades, or a similar environment is a strong asset

Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities

Strong communication and relationship‑building skills

Comfortable handling sensitive and confidential matters

Solid understanding of employment legislation and HR best practices

Post‑secondary education in HR or related field; CPHR is an asset
